Christmas Minis
December 2019
This was the first year that I offered themed Christmas mini
sessions and I don’t know why I hadn’t done it before. I had a blast
shopping for the decorations and props that Hobby Lobby and Home
Goods became my second home. I had a specific vision for these that
I wanted to make sure every detail meant something for me and the
families I was going to be capturing. The first set up I wanted to
be warm and cozy, that’s why I Included the twinkle lights and then
I came up with the cookies and milk in bed set up. I just had to add
fun, silly kids and loving parents and it was going to be magical.
It was so much fun meeting each and every single family. Everyone
was so different from the next and it made it challenging for me but
so worth it! I met a sweet, energetic little boy that just couldn’t
put down his cookies and loved giving sweet kisses to his mommy and
daddy. Then there was this super cute little princess with a
beautiful smile just like her mommy. They both enjoyed some cookies
and milk and had a real bonding time over them. It honestly made me
think about my own little one and I cried a little inside (happy
thoughts though). My sweet, long-time friend came over with her
husband and little baby J and I couldn’t handle the cuteness
overload. Baby J was on the serious side but he warmed up toward the
end and gifted me a sweet smile that just about melted my heart. Oh,
let me tell you about the extreme workout I had with the six cousins
and their parents! I was surprised how well behaved these kids were
and although there were some tears from the little one, they all
seemed to have enjoyed themselves and definitely loved having some
cookies and milk as a treat for their cooperation. As for the
workout, well let’s just say I was climbing chairs and getting on my
knees to find the best angle, as any photographer should. These
families made love my job even more. The interactions with them and
their reactions when they receive their images is all I crave. I
genuinely thank every single family that chose me to capture their
families in their best Christmas spirit!
Merry Christmas to you all.
